Judge

Judge Thatcher received his Juris Doctorate degree from Capital University Law School, in 1989, where he participated in the International Law Moot Court Team. He earned a double major in History and Political Science, with departmental honors, from Otterbein University, in 1986.

Judge Thatcher is a former member of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association and the National District Attorneys Association.

Judge Thatcher is very active in civic organizations including the Mount Vernon Rotary Club and Rotary Club Foundation. He currently serves as Rotary Club Foundation Chair. He is a past president of the Centerburg Lions Club.  The Judge also serves as President of the Muskingum Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Judge Thatcher has been a Scouting volunteer since 1995, and he received the Boy Scouts’ “Silver Beaver Award” for Distinguished Service to Youth, in 2006.

Judge Thatcher and his wife Beth have been married since 1986. They have five children.
