Judge

Judge Thatcher received his Juris Doctorate degree from Capital University Law School, in 1989, where he participated in the International Law Moot Court Team. He earned a double major in History and Political Science, with departmental honors, from Otterbein University, in 1986.

Judge Thatcher is a former member of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association and the National District Attorneys Association.

Judge Thatcher is very active in civic organizations. He is a member of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club and a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. He is a member of the Centerburg Lions Club and a Lions Melvin Jones Fellow. The Judge is a past President of the Muskingum Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He received the Boy Scouts’ Silver Beaver Award, in 2006, and the Distinguished Silver Beaver Award, in 2023, for his service to youth.

Judge Thatcher and his wife Beth have been married since 1986. They have five children.
